The Olympia SM3 DeLuxe
So I recently picked up this beauty from underneath a desk at a thriftstore:
This image is how I found her, overall she was in great condition, just in a very dirty and dusty case.
15 euro later I took her home to inspect her in more detail.
When I got home I found that my SM3 had the same issue as many others, the rubber spacers
on the bottom had turned into primordial goop, this means that the carriage is now too low in the chassis
which leads to it scraping on the side. Because of this the carriage on my machine could not
be advanced all the way.
Luckily all that had to be done to fix this issue was simply creating some new rubber spacers and replacing
the old ones with them. This way the carriage would sit high enough again.
Now the whole thing works again, I also gave everything inside a clean and now she's fully done!
